Technical management

Within the field of technical management, Express Shipping A/S offers the following services:

• As your technical management partner, we are responsible for the technical operations and performance on board the vessel. When onboard the ship, the technical manager represents the owner.
• We implement and certify ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) on board the ship.
• We implement and certify ISM.
• As your technical management partner, we supervise all technical incidents on board the ship and are responsible for the maintenance of the SMS,"Safety Management System".
• We are responsible for the technical operations, repairs, maintenance and purchasing, cf. the specifications below.

1. Operations
We carry out continuous inspection and surveillance of operations as well as maintenance of the technical installations on board the vessel. To achieve the best results, our work is carried out in close co-operation with the shipmaster and chief engineer always taking into consideration the fixed budgets as well as all class and regulatory requirements.

2. Operating budget
Once a year the technical management team in co-operation with the shipowner/the shipping company, the shipmaster and chief engineer draw up an operating budget. The final budget is presented to and approved by the shipowner.
The operating budget includes all expenses concerning the technical operations, maintenance and improvements. We follow up on the budget continuously and if significant deviations occur, these will be presented to the shipowner.

3. Purchasing and invoicing
Our purchasing services include invoice control, bookkeeping and clearance of all invoices concerning ship operations, cf. below:

• Ordering of stores and repairs/maintenance ashore is carried out by technical management.
• The owner authorizes all major initiatives, investments, repairs and maintenance as well as loss and damages.
• All requisitions from the ship are forwarded to, authorized and entered into the accounts by the technical management department. Subsequently, the invoices are forwarded to the account management department.
• All invoices have to be send directly to the shipping company.
