EXPRESS SHIPPING A/S expands its fleet again

EXPRESS SHIPPING A/S in Frederikshavn, Denmark, is expanding its fleet with the RO/RO-vessel Merchant Bravery. EXPRESS SHIPPING has bought Merchant Bravery from Bravery International Shipping Ltd., Bahamas, and takes over the new vessel in Algeciras, Spain in the end of May 2008.

In the future, Merchant Bravery will be used for T/C in North European RO/RO services for Nordfolkline, and will be the third EXPRESS SHIPPING vessel engaged in North European RO/RO services.

“The acquisition of Merchant Bravery is part of our long-term strategy for the RO/RO market”, says managing director Lars Lindegaard Christensen.

Merchant Bravery was build in 1978 on Nylands Verksted in Norway and sails under the Bahamas Islands’ flag. The ship is 1.272 lanemetres and has two MaK main engines, 2 x 4500 BHP at 600 rpm. for 15 knots sailing speed.

In the future, the ship will be called West Express. Captain of the vessel will be Jegvan Sundskard, EXPRESS SHIPPING.
